Sg. Siput Emergency Monument


On this day in 1948, the emergency was declared in Malaya following the murder of three European planters in Sg. Siput, Perak on June 16, 1948.

Now in the site of murder, a monument and gallery was bulit as dedicated to the gallant planters (Europeans and Malayans), members of the security forces, staff, workers and civilians who lost their lives during the Malayan Emergency (1948-1960) and its resurgence (1973-1989).
